This piece stands out not only for its highly original and very contemporary display, but also for its rarity: the series was produced in a very limited run, this specific watch being the first to be produced in white gold with a particularly elegant tone-on-tone anthracite dial.
When, in 2006, De Bethune rethought the entire architecture, explored new codes and boldly interpreted a digital display for an instantaneous calendar with days, date and month, jumping hours and minutes, the result exceeded all expectations.
A new caliber and a dial like no other: understated, pure, and elegantly revealing – a premiere – the Côtes De Bethune. This exceptional finish, too, is an expression of rare quality as it requires a very special touch, evoking a precious fabric woven to subtly catch and reverberate the light.
On the case back, a sky of blued titanium, not just capturing the complex beauty of the celestial vault but breathing life into it, with embedded stars of gold and the signature De Bethune moon of steel and flame-blued palladium rotating on its own axis – a dazzling sight that rounds off this vibrant and deep tableau.

On the case itself, the crown at 12 o'clock and De Bethune’s hallmark bullet-shaped lugs catch the eye.

Beating at a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour, the caliber developed for this DBD features the patented titanium balance wheel, a De Bethune exclusive, which increases the power reserve by twenty percent (to 6 days), and the ‘triple pare-chute’ shock absorption system, a De Bethune patent too, for effective protection. Ultimately, this watch takes the codes of classic watchmaking and transposes them into the modern era.
